EoS is a port type on Qwest synchronous service transport (SST) and self-healing network service (SHNS) that provides customers a Layer 1 point-to-point Ethernet handoff. The Ethernet signal is carried via synchronous optical network (SONET) over the SST or SHNS service. Available at 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps and gigbit port speeds, EoS can be added to existing SST and SHNS services.
